Securities dealing

The Finnish Association of Securities Dealers and the Federation of Finnish Financial Services merged on 1 January 2009. In the Federation, Securities Dealing operates as a part of Financial Industry Legislation & Taxation.

The Federation represents the interests of its members in all matters related to investment services, with the aim of improving the securities markets and investment services in Finland. The Federation gives its members recommendations and directions, produces model agreements for the sector, and takes part in the preparation of related legislation and other regulation as an expert organisation and a representative of investment firms.

The Federation works in co-operation with its Nordic counterparts. In January 2009, they jointly formed the Nordic Securities Association, which focuses primarily on regulated Nordic markets, clearing houses, supervisors and other matters of common interest. Another objective of the Nordic Securities Association is to promote harmonisation of rules and recommendations, as well as supervision in the Nordic region.
